We have all been there – having to move from one place to another. Statistically this doesn’t happen as often in the UK, as it does in USA, for example, but it is still a regular occurrence, with more and more people wanting to change their fast-paced lifestyle for a more comfortable one. After all, we only have so much time on this earth and we want to make the most of it. But this is easier said than done and there are many thing that a person has to think about, before moving on to the next chapter of their lives.
Usually when you move, you hire a moving company. But what happens when you have already moved, but you need new furniture or you just want to get your parents’ old sofa that is perfectly good, but they don’t want it anymore? A moving company is not a viable option, but neither are regular couriers. Why? Because there are many factors that increase the price of a delivery, and when your item is so large, bulky and heavy, you will have to pay a lot, to get it deliver – at least by traditional means and regular couriers.
We at XPERT Delivery provide an easier solution for you in the form of a single large item delivery, but we will talk about that later. First we will tell you about why regular services are so expensive and what helps us reduce the price. To start, you need to know how a big name courier operates and does its business. Most big courier companies have storage facilities throughout the country and they have many offices in different places. When you hire them for a delivery, they will take your package and will transfer it to such an office or a storage facility. They will not deliver it directly to the doorstep of the recipient. As you can imagine this increases the cost, because it prolongs the drive. Not to mention that there is an infrastructure of deliveries and this can increase the cost as well. What do we mean? Well, if the recipient lives in a remote or rural area, there may not be a close storage facility. Then the courier has to take everything to the closest office or facility, which may be way off course, if it was taken directly to the place. From there they dispatch another courier to take the piece to the recipient.
Statistically, an item may travel 50% more (sometimes even more than that) and the cost of that has to factor in the final price. But not only that – storage costs, workers’ wages and all that are also included in the final price. Add a revenue percentage for the company and here you go – a hefty price to pay. And since the vehicle they use to transport items only has so much space, the heavier your item is and the more space it takes may make your delivery cost skyrocket.
With us things are simpler – we have a one-person operation. That means a person comes with a vehicle, picks up your item and delivers it to where it needs to go. Sometimes we may store it (if you have chosen economy delivery, for example), but the item still doesn’t travel to 15 different places. This is why our price is way lower and the deliveries are more straightforward.
